The Redmi Note 7 was great value for money. Let’s review if the Redmi note 8 pro specifications are as good as we think for less than 300 dollars. Recall that the Pro version was released well before the normal version (Note 8Tgets its T by the presence of NFC and 18W fast charging.)
Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications: Design
Oh, a new phone! Isn’t it a little large? Or maybe a little heavy? It is with this that we could start talking about the Redmi note 8 pro specifications. It may not be suitable for everyone with these specs. Its 6.53-inch screen shows it well. Moreover, it is not always easy to touch the top of the smartphone. Likewise, sporting a notch in the shape of a drop of water and fine borders, the grip is still pleasant. Back design is our favorite. There are rounded edges and a glass surface that does not take fingerprints.
3 photosensors are placed vertically, centered at the top. The fingerprint sensor is an integral part of the module and is located just below another sensor, at the same height.
In our opinion, Design yes but too bad, the finger is often mistaken between the two sensors. Despite this slight quack, we can note that a good quality of manufacture.
Furthermore, for connectors, it boasts a jack, a USB-C port, and a mono speaker grille.
Screen: Light… LCD!
If you thought you were entitled to AMOLED, go your way, turn right towards the Mi 9 Lite. Indeed, this is one of the concessions made. The Redmi Note 8 Pro has a Full HD + IPS LCD screen. The screen is very bright and has a good minimum and maximum brightness. For the colors, it is always a little bluish unfortunately. Also, the notch is discreet and does not interfere.
Software: Miui, Minon
Xiaomi forces, Redmi adopts the MIUI overlay. Always very far from the purity of Android, it is here more recent with version 11. (Unfortunately, the update available only gives MIUI 11 and not Android 10.) We find on the left, not the news feed Google but a shortcut menu of applications and features. On the program in general, a parameter menu still as messy with a heap of functionalities and personalization. There is no application drawer. (Long live the launchers). We will especially remember this “antivirus” which will analyze each application that you install. (nevertheless, deactivate). The security patch dates from October 2019.
On the security side, 2D facial recognition is essential. Even though it may turn out to be fast, it is still less secure than the fingerprint sensor on the back.
Performances: A Mediatek for gamers!
We are not going to hide it from you. MediaTek is not very well seen in terms of processor, so much that one does not find it in majority in entry-level smartphones. For once, MediaTek is getting a makeover with a super mid-range gaming-oriented chip: the Mediatek Helio G90T. With this, we have 6 GB of RAM and up to 129 GB of storage in UFS 2.1. The performances are not pushed to the maximum but one feels a good fluidity in the interface as in the games. You will be able to run all the games in the Play Store without a problem. On Fortnite, the FPS is very stable in 30 FPS mode, no lag or freeze. The chip handles this very well.
Photo and Video: Even more pixels
Redmi gives us a punch in the eyes here. Here we have 4 sensors. The main sensor is a 64 MP sensor, it is one of the first smartphones to take advantage of it. There is a second 8 MP sensor for ultra-wide-angle and another 2 MP for macro. (The fourth sensor is located next to the module, 2 MP to capture the depth.) The photos in 64 MP are very clear and HD, there is no doubt about it. Yet, those in ultra-wide-angle are a bit questionable due to the distortions.
Battery: It won’t let you go
If with a 4500mAh battery you still can not hold a full day, it will be necessary to monitor your playing time. Here in Redmi Note 8 Pro Specifications you have an endurance monster that can hold up to three for simple or moderate use. Intensive use will not cause it to lose ground during the day. If you are ever afraid of seeing it empty, you can charge it on the way home from work with its fast 18W charge: 2h for a full recharge.
Redmi Note 8 Pro price:
Announced at the price of 249 dollars for the basic configuration 6 GB of Ram and 64 GB of storage, you can also have 128 GB for 279 dollars. There are 4 colors: Green Forest, White Pearl, Gray Mineral and Ocean Blue.
