The standard model would simply be called S20 instead of S11 Lite. The large-format variant would simply be called S20 +. For its part, the ultra-high-end version would be renamed S20 Ultra. Samsung has therefore decided to shake up its habits, probably to do a bit like its rival Apple.

Galaxy S20 prices: from 800 to more than 1300 €
The latest rumors are that the S20s will be significantly more expensive than last year’s S10 series. So, when the S10e was displayed at 750 €, the S20 in its 4G edition should be marketed between 800 and 900 €. The 5G version of the same model should cost between 900 and 1000 €. This is a game-changing price range for the “entry-level” model, which is felt on the other models, those with higher capacities.
Thus, the S20 + 4G (which succeeds the S10) should be displayed at 950 or 1000 €. Again, it will add a hundred euros to acquire the 5G edition. For the record, the S10 was marketed € 909 when it was released in March 2019.
Finally, the S20 Ultra 5G would be sold for € 1,300. It is not yet known whether a 4G edition of the smartphone is planned by Samsung, but if it were to see the light of day, it too should be marketed a hundred euros less than the 5G version, or € 1,200.
What do we know about the 120 Hz screen?
This year, Samsung decided to stand out from the competition by opting for 120 Hz screens. Significantly, the 120 Hz screen would be offered on the 3 Galaxy S20s. The manufacturer will allow users to easily switch from 60 to 120 Hz via the settings. Samsung will set up three different options to manage the operation of the 120 Hz screen:
- The complete deactivation of the 120 Hz screen (the rate remains at 60 Hz)
- Activate high refresh rate mode and stay at 120 Hz
- Activate high refresh rate mode and automatically switch between 60Hz and 120Hz
What SoC and how much RAM?
The American Galaxy S20 will be powered by Qualcomm’s SoC Snapdragon 865. The models sold on the European market will rely on the SoC Exynos 990 developed by Samsung. To support the SoC, the manufacturer will integrate up to 16 GB of RAM in its most premium variant, the S20 Ultra. The other variants can count on 112 GB of RAM.
What sizes for batteries?
On the design side, the leaks rely on batteries ranging from 4000 mAh to 5000 mAh. Samsung is also banking on a fast 45W recharge on premium versions (S20 + and Ultra). The standard variant could be confined to a 25W recharge, like the Note 10.
- Galaxy S20: 4000 mAh
- Galaxy S20 +: 4500 mAh
- Galaxy S20 Ultra: 5000 mAh
What do we know about the S20’s camera?
Samsung will integrate a fivefold photo sensor made up of a main 108 Mp module into its Galaxy S20 Ultra. It would be the ISOCELL Bright HMX designed in partnership with Xiaomi. This sensor offers a definition equivalent to that of a high-end digital SLR camera. The other variants are content with a 64 MP sensor.
- Galaxy S20: 64 MP (f / 1.5-2.4), 12 MP (f / 2.4) telephoto and 16 MP (f / 2.2) ultra wide angle.
- Galaxy S20 +: 64 MP (f / 1.5-2.4), 12 MP (f / 2.4) 10x telephoto, 12 MP (f / 2.2) ultra wide angle, ToF camera
- Galaxy S20 Ultra: 108 MP (f / 1.5-2.4), 48 MP (f / 2.4) 10x telephoto, 12 MP (f / 2.2) ultra wide angle, Dual ToF camera
On the front, Samsung would bet on a single selfie camera (10 MP) for all models.
The Galaxy S20 Ultra would have a quadruple photo module with the main sensor of 108 Mp, a telephoto lens of 48 Mp with 10x optical zoom, an ultra-wide of 12 Mp and a ToF sensor.
The S20 + would also have a camera composed of four lenses, one of 12Mp, one of 64 Mp, one of 12Mp 3x optical / 30x digital telephoto and a ToF sensor.
As for the S20, it will have to lose the ToF sensor due to its configuration with three lenses. New rumors even suggest that the Ultra model will be equipped with a 40 MP sensor at the front.
All three will support 8K video at 30fps at the rear and 4K video at 60fps at the front. Their main objectives are placed in a rectangular module and are accompanied by a flash.
The leaker Ishan Agarwal recently published an image that represents the configuration and the two-tone design of the camera of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ulta.
According to XDA-Developers, a stand-alone sensor has been added to the Galaxy S20. Why? To allow your camera to detect the number of people in the frame and switch to wide-angle mode automatically.
A patent is also said to have been filed with the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) for a photosensor called Bright Night that has the ability to take high-quality photos at night.
Finally, Galaxy S20 smartphones could also take advantage of a Single Take mode to take photos and videos simultaneously via all the main lenses.
Samsung Galaxy S20: Performances
In Europe, the Galaxy S20 will be equipped with the Exynos 990 SoC, boosted by 12 GB of RAM for certain models, and a 5X LPDDR memory.
The Exynos 990 7 nm should allow a speed gain of 20% and would be able to support 120Hz screens and 108 Mp photo modules.
As for the 5G version, it will be equipped with a 5G 5123 modem capable of supporting sub-6 GHz and mmWave spectra.
In the United States, the Galaxy S20 should integrate a Snapdragon 865 processor that can support screens up to 144Hz with variable refresh rates, but also lenses with resolutions up to 200Mp.
It will also rely on an X55 modem for 5G with frequencies below 6 GHz and mmWave.
Whether the European or American variant, the two processors will have an LPDDR5 memory and 12 GB of RAM which should be installed on the S20 and S20 +, with up to 16 GB on the S20 Ultra.
Also expect UFS 3 storage options from 128 GB to 512 GB, with expansion up to 1 TB via microSD.
Samsung Galaxy S20: Design for the Galaxy S20?
Inspired by the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+, the Galaxy S20 is enhanced by an Infinity-O screen with a hole replaced in the center. The AMOLED panel is surrounded by thin edges and a slightly thicker chin. Moreover, the edges of the three models are curved. On the back, the modules that make up the camera are arranged in a rectangular shape, as is the case for the Huawei P40 in particular.
Thanks to a grip on models of the S20s, it is possible to better appreciate the format differences between the three models.
As for its software, we can also expect the Galaxy S11 to run on Android 10 Q, released in August, with the Samsung OneUI overlay.
Samsung Galaxy S20: Battery
Still according to Weinbach and its source, the S20 + has a range equal to that of the Samsung Galaxy S10, thanks to a 4,500 mAh battery. He also claims that the S20 + will have a 25 W fast-charging system.
Rumors suggest that the Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 5000 mAh battery compatible with a fast charge of 45W.
The Galaxy S20 could embed a 4000 mAh battery.
Finally, we hope that this new generation of Galaxy S will be compatible with wireless charging.
